The Millennial Generation And Their Present Situation
While named Generation Y and the "echo boomers" much of this population prefers to be identified as the name that they gave to themselves: the millennial generation. This class is commonly defined as those born from about 1980 until the end of the millennium. They grow up in the new 21st century and thereby they get their name. A number of people in the millennial generation also want to differentiate themselves evidently from Generation X.
The millennial generation is frequently called the echo boomers since they are also the result of a baby boom. While there is controversy about precisely how many years to mark as part of this generation, the millennials will number anywhere between 76 million and 80 million that makes them the same size as the baby boomers if not a little larger. Like the baby boomers, a group this huge cannot help but have a significant impact on all aspects of life in The USA.

The millennial or Y generation is likely to come from a family having a working mother and to come from a separated family. Rapidly advancing technologies also indicate that many jobs become obsolete and ongoing education and teaching is absolutely necessary. While their parents and grandparents commonly wanted to keep a job for decades if not their whole career, this is not the scenario.
Not only is the millennial generation more likely to change jobs many times in their working times, they tend to change the entire direction of their careers to find a match in an increasingly tight job sector. A college degree is not anymore a guarantee of an easy hire and a good paying position and underemployment and unemployment is a grave concern for this age group.

Roughly the same size as the baby boomer generation, the millennial generation of about 78 million represents an echo of that baby boom. They are a demographic whose lives center around advanced technology. This generation is likely to have several changes in careers during their working years.
